Monthly Room Availability Update – February 2019

Happy 2019! Are you ready to focus on your music as part of the new year’s resolution kick? We currently have a few openings in our drum share rooms starting at $200/month and one space in a shared band room starting at $400/month. These shared spaces are all available to tour and move-in now!

Our private rehearsal rooms are in a bit more demand, as we currently have one private room coming available this week. Give us a call at 312-997-1972 or schedule a tour via our Schedulicity booking page to view and learn more information about our private room!

As always, we encourage interested clients to keep an eye on our monthly room availability page on our website. We update any rooms that are coming open soon and as they become available to rent as we receive notice from our tenants!

Winter Internship 2019

We’re now accepting applications for our winter internship, which runs mid-January to mid-May! Head over to our internships page for full details!!

Thanksgiving Holiday Hours

With Thanksgiving coming up this week, please take a look at our adjusted holiday hours! We will be closing early on Wednesday and remain closed through Friday morning, where we will open an hour later at 11AM.

Area Construction Notice

 

🚧 Construction Update – Thursday, 12/13: 
The “no parking – police order” signs have been updated from no parking at all to no parking from 7AM-5PM on our section of Loomis St. The road is open to get into our parking lot & loading dock.


🚧 Construction Update – Monday, 12/10: 

Work is now being done to repave all of Loomis St, so there is currently NO parking at any time allowed on our section of Loomis St until this work is done. However, the street is still open to get into our parking lot & loading dock!


🚧 Construction Update – Tuesday, 11/20: Construction continues on Loomis St. between Carroll Ave and Fulton Ave and our block and parking lot is currently inaccessible to cars as they are digging and driving trucks through the entirety of the street.


🚧 Construction Update – Thursday, 11/8: Our section of Loomis St. looks to be open and easily accessible to cars! Hopefully this will stay the same through the rest of the week.


🚧 Construction Update – Tuesday, 11/6: Workers are still digging near the intersection of Carroll Ave. and Loomis St. but you can access Loomis St from Carroll Ave. in either direction. Construction usually wraps up around 3-3:30PM so we hope that we will have better access by that time or earlier for our afternoon and evening rehearsals! If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call at 312-997-1972!


🚧 Construction Update – 11/2-5: Today’s construction involves digging directly in the intersection of Carroll Ave. and Loomis St. At this time, Loomis St. is not accessible by car in any direction (from Ogden Ave turning onto Carroll Ave, nor Fulton Ave turning onto Carroll Ave, nor coming down east on Carroll Ave.)

Construction usually wraps up around 3-3:30PM so we hope that we will have access by that time or earlier for our afternoon and evening rehearsals! If you have any questions or concerns, please give us a call at 312-997-1972!


10/9: The Music Garage’s and Vic’s Drum Shop’s neighborhood is currently amidst a large construction project courtesy of the Department of Water Management (Project No: 1801102). They have been replacing the water mains throughout the area starting back in June. The work directly affecting our area starts on Loomis St. from the end of the block to Fulton Street.

There are “No Parking – Police Order” signs posted on Loomis St., which do not allow parking from 7:00AM until 3:30PM starting today, October 9, until “Completion”. In the meantime, our parking lot is first come first serve and is located directly behind our building. We cannot guarantee that if you leave before 3:30 PM the street will be open.

We are also a short walk from the Ashland Pink & Green line stop as well as the Ashland and Grand busses. Please note that the big parking lot in front of the building (with entrance from Carroll Ave.) belongs to our neighbors and any unauthorized car parked there is subject to towing!

We have signed up to receive construction update emails from the department, but unfortunately we do not know the estimated completion date. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them in hopes to give you the most recent and helpful information for planning your trip to Music Garage or Vic’s Drum Shop.


Notification from Department of Water Management:

RE:       Water Main Replacement Project #1801102

Dear Neighbor,

 In coordination with Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s Building a New Chicago infrastructure investment program, and at Alderman Burnett’s request, I would like to provide you with information about an upcoming water main construction project in your neighborhood. 

In early June 2018, Department of Water Management crews will begin the work to install 1,305 feet of new 8-inch water main in N. Loomis Street from W. Carroll Ave. to W. Randolph Street. The old water main dates back to 1899, and needs to be replaced.

When we are working in the street, we may close or limit it to traffic for safety reasons, but you will always be able to reach your home or business. Outside of working hours, a travel lane will be left open for local traffic only.

 We will post our work area for “No Parking” as needed during work hours (generally 7:00 am- 4:00 pm). Parking outside of those hours will be allowed, but cars will need to be moved by the start of the next workday. We will try to preserve as much parking space as possible.

 We know that construction always involves inconveniences and noise. We will do everything possible to maintain your quality of life throughout these projects, and conducting ourselves as good and thoughtful neighbors in the course of our presence on your street.
